Ladies and Gentlemen!
The 13th edition of our Festival was a continuation of searching for diversity of the language of mime theatre.
This year’s programme aims to show the beauty of our art which justifiably escapes definition.
We took you on a journey through the world of Henryk Tomaszewski’s performances, only to present completely different poetics of Czech mime moments later.
"Agua de lagrimas" by Warsaw Mime Centre was produced by actors from Marcel Marceau’s company. It is a mixture of French and Polish way of thinking about mime art. For the first time, we will feature classical mime from Ukraine. Two days later, you will be able to enjoy the multifariousness of the Modern Mime Evening. The French company Mangano-Massip’s pro- duction includes a delightful combination of the two main streams of mime art in Europe.
Finally, Bodecker&Neander Compagnie with their latest show. They visited us for the sixth time, and they have become favourites of Warsaw’s audiences.
I believe that the 13th Festival show mime as an art where actors, along with their sensi- tivity and skills, are the most important.
At the same time, I would like to emphasize that this year’s Festival would not have been possible without over a thousand letters sent to the Ministry, supporting the idea of the Festival. On
behalf of the writers and actors, as well as a major part of the spectators, I would like to thank you.
My thanks also go to the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Dramatic Theatre of the capital city of Warsaw for continuing the celebration of mime theatre.
