Ladies and Gentlemen,
Pantomime, despite having a rich tradition in Poland of over fifty years, is always being discovered anew by consumers of culture. This is one of the reasons why, for
the 17th edition of the International Mime Art Festival, we have invited performances that show the growth of the pantomime theatre worldwide.
The art bases on an excellent knowledge of the theatre craft,
a consciousness of the body, and an enormous sensitivity of its creators.
This year, the Festival will be happy to present the newest performance
of the legendary pair Bodecker & Neander Company.
The Evening of Contemporary Pantomime will be a space for showing a series of short etudes, presenting the variety of our art and performed by extraordinary actors from all over Europe. The SinArt and A3 theatres will take us on a journey through the land of the absurd, where actors skillfully and with plentiful charm expand the borders of imagination.
You will see the return of the Wrocław Mime Theatre of Henryk Tomaszewski’s name with their performance inspired by the drama of Michel de Ghelederode
titled “The School for Buffoons.”
For the first time in the history of our Festival, we will host a group from Portugal, which will show the original, minimalist,
profound and visually beautiful approach to the story of pantomime.
I am certain that this year’s Festival’s programme will meet with your appreciation.
I invite you to the Festival where actors can say so much without uttering a single word.
